VENTUS Supports Season Championship Victory on Tour in Atlanta

Fujikura is celebrating a season-ending victory at the Tour’s biggest event of the year, as VENTUS once again delivered under pressure with the top 30 players of the season battling for the ultimate prize in Atlanta.

The Season Championship represents the pinnacle of the Tour season, bringing together the players who have performed at the highest level all year for one final test. With every competitor earning their place through a season of elite performances, the pressure was at its highest as the game’s best went head-to-head for the final victory of the campaign.

The champion’s win in Atlanta followed another dominant victory for a VENTUS player at a season-ending playoff event in Memphis just two weeks earlier.

The World No. 1, now a 22-time Tour winner with three victories this season, demanded the very best in power and accuracy to navigate Atlanta’s oldest golf course and secure a three-shot victory. One of the longest venues on the Tour schedule, the par-70 layout stretches to a challenging 7,440 yards. Combined with narrow fairways and precise landing areas, the course presented a demanding strategic test.

After beginning the final round one shot behind the lead, the champion displayed remarkable control throughout Sunday, particularly over the closing stretch, repeatedly finding fairways to create valuable birdie opportunities when the tournament was on the line.

WHAT’S IN THE WINNER’S BAG

Claiming his third Tour win of the season, the 30-year-old used a VENTUS Black 7-X in his driver, VENTUS Black 8-X in his 3-wood, and VENTUS Black 9-X in his 7-wood.

At the Season Championship, Fujikura was the #1 driver shaft, #1 wood shaft, and hybrid shaft. Fujikura driver shafts were used by 46.6% of the field, an increase of 3.3% from last year’s Season Championship. In the wood shaft category, Fujikura led the field with 44% usage, improving 8.4% year over year. Fujikura tied for the top position in hybrid shafts, with 50% of the field choosing Fujikura.

The victory provides yet another example of VENTUS performing when the margins are at their smallest, delivering the stability, consistency, and confidence required when the world’s best players are competing under the greatest pressure of the season.

Pat McCoy, Director of Tour Operations at Fujikura, said:

“To finish the season with a victory at an event like this is a fantastic achievement and a great way to close out the campaign.

This is the event where the very best players of the year come together, so the level of competition and the pressure on every shot are incredibly high. To see VENTUS trusted by the winner in those circumstances is hugely rewarding for everyone at Fujikura.

The course demanded much more than simply finding the fairway. Players had to make the right decisions, shape shots with the longer clubs, and carefully manage where they wanted to position the ball. That combination of accuracy, control, and confidence is exactly where VENTUS is designed to perform.

Finishing the season with a victory on this stage is a proud moment for Fujikura. Our congratulations go to the champion on a fantastic performance and to all of the players who competed at the highest level throughout the season.”

It was also a successful weekend worldwide for Fujikura and VENTUS, with victories on the European-based Tour in Warwickshire, England, and at the women’s Tour event in Boston, further highlighting the continued trust the world’s best players place in Fujikura performance shafts.
